A guide to The Whale’s in-room record player.

PLAYING VINYL — ROOMS 1–17

On the Marshall speaker:
1. Set the Source to AUX
2. Set the volume, bass and treble around halfway.

On the record player
3. Check the speed is set to 33 RPM and the size to 12".
4. Pick your record. Keep fingers to the edges where possible. Vinyl grooves aren’t big on dust or fingerprints.
5. Place the record on the slip mat and hit “Start”.

The tone arm is automatic, so let it glide into place and find the groove.

CONNECT TO MARSHALL SPEAKER VIA BLUETOOTH — ROOMS 1–17
1. Turn the speaker on.
2. Press Source until Bluetooth is selected.
3. Hold Source for 2 seconds until the Bluetooth light flashes.
4. On your phone, go to Settings → Bluetooth.
5. Select Acton III.
6. Play music on your device

PLAYING VINYL IN THE PENTHOUSE — AUDIO TECHNICA
1. Turn the turntable on
2. Put the record on the platter, making sure not to touch the grooves with your fingers
3. Turn the speed dial to 33 or 45 — this starts the platter. (if a full size 12" record you want '33')
4. Using the cue lever, lift and position the tonearm (carefully)"
5. Lower the cue lever to play (very carefully)
6. When finished, return the tonearm and turn the dial back to Stop
